*“But you his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, although you knew all this. And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your Lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified. Then the fingers of the hand were sent from Him, and this writing was written. Daniel 5:22-24 NKJV*
Rick Warren wrote, " life is too short to learn everything by personal experience, you can glean from others that which they learned the hard way." Someone also said, "the only lesson history continues to teach is that people don't learn from history."
In short, no experience in life happened in vain, it is our wisdom and duty to learn from it. The whole essence of previous experience written or shared with us is for the rest of us to learn from the errors of others to prevent avoidable disasters in life.
However, what is common is that most humans like to repeat history. It is a dangerous game to ignore divine warnings and lift oneself against the God of heaven. No matter how successful, wealthy or influential you have become, at best you are still a mortal man. Never attempt to equate yourself with God in any way to take His glory, touch His glory or share in His glory.
God tolerates no rival and He will not hold lightly any human who uses His sacred instruments for a common purpose or to serve the pleasure of sins. May the LORD God help you to always honour God with your life and not to rob Him of His well deserved glory. Good morning, have a blessed day.
